On the last Saturday of hot summer on one of the most beautiful amber streets of the city took place the 10th Mariacka Street Festival - "Mariacka Bursztynowa".

This year the weather was good and this hot afternoon was full of events related to amber. The holiday began with the welcome of representatives of the organizers of the holiday: Ryszard Uliński, president of the International Amber Association, and Ewa Rachoń, director of the Amberif and Ambermart projects from the Gdańsk International Fair. Then, at the doorstep of the Gdańsk Branch of the Library, the microphone was taken over by the choir from the Gdańsk Academy Senior-Feminae Cantantes under the direction of Anna Kondek, with the song "Amber Pipe Poem" specially prepared for this event. Then, Kamil Badzioch and the band moved the sailing atmosphere. Also with the musical accent - the beautiful sounds of the harp, the vernissage of "Mariacka through Halina Otchych's eyes" began, which was the culmination of this artist's weekly plein-air painting. At the Galeria Jackiewicz, you could admire paintings and portraits by Jacek Mydlarski and jewellery by Paweł Mądry. Free entry to the Wieża Przyrodników and lectures by prof. Tadeusz Grabarczyk on the activities of the Dom Przyrodników and dr Elżbieta Sontag on the secrets of inclusions in amber. At the Gdańsk Branch of the Library, you could listen to the poetry of Krystyna Łubieńska, a lecture by dr Anna Sobecka "From Teutonic rosaries to the Amber Chamber" and take part in the author's meeting with the editor-in-chief of "Bursztynisko. The Amber Magazine. " Children had the opportunity to take over the role of jewellery designers by making amber brooches-tenements. The evening passed in a musical atmosphere, which began with a piano concert performed by Michał Mossakowski, Maks Pabjańczyk and Aleksander Jelonek from The Good Fellas performed in front of the Drukarnia cafe, in the St. Mary's Basilica a prof. Bogusław Grabowski, as part of the Jazz cycle at the Jacobson family, Artur Jurek Organ Quartet performed, and at the end of the festival, Tomasz Ziętek from the Loco Star band gave an excellent demonstration of his skills, this time performing solo.

The 10th Edition of St. Mary's Street ended with this virtuoso performance. We thank the hosts, artists and guests for great energy and another successful holiday. See you at Mariacka street!
