During AMBERIF Spring 2024, Ryszard Ulinski, IAA Chairman  received a medal from the President of the City of Gdansk for his contribution to promoting Gdansk as the world capital of amber. The medal was presented by Piotr Kryszewski, deputy mayor of Gdansk.
IAA Chairman, Ryszard Ulinski has been in the amber business for 60 years. Since the very beginning of the International Amber Association, he has acted as an experienced appraiser of raw amber, semi-finished amber products and amber products enjoying widespread trust, which resulted in his receiving the statuette of Amber Personality of the Year 2014.
Ryszard Ulinski is visibly active in social work for the amber community: over the years he has presided over General Assemblies, and has been active in the efforts to extract amber raw material in Poland. He took an intensive part in talks with the Gdansk authorities on finding more convenient premises for the Association. He initiated the creation of the album "Baltic Amber. Nature. History. Culture" published in 2023 by IAA.
