AMBERWORKING ADVENTURE

On May 30th, we hosted a unique workshop, AMBERWORKING ADVENTURE, which combined adventure with discovering the secrets of working with amber.

Participants began the day with a trip to an amber mining site, where, under the supervision of our member Krzysztof Bireśniewicz from Amber Field and Marta Biereśniewicz, they had the opportunity to “catch” their own piece of amber. It was a unique chance to learn about the hydraulic method of amber extraction and see how mining works in practice.

The second part of the workshop took place at the IAA Gallery and was dedicated to the processing and setting of amber, led by Giedymin Jabłoński. Participants individually cut and polished their finds, learning the subsequent stages of amber craftsmanship. The prepared amber pieces were then set in silver, allowing each participant to create their own unique keepsake.

We would like to thank all participants for their presence, engagement, and wonderful atmosphere. We are glad we could share this journey together—from extracting amber to creating a finished piece.
