AMBER+PEARL
2026-05-12
Yesterday, the opening of the AMBER + PEARL exhibition took place at the IAA Gallery, showcasing a commercial jewellery collection designed by students of the Experimental Design Studio at the Faculty of Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk.
The exhibition features more than 30 jewellery prototypes combining two organic materials inseparably associated with the sea – amber and pearl. The designs were created as part of a research and implementation project aimed at introducing selected models into serial production and distribution through renowned jewellery stores around the world. All objects were produced using modern CAD/CAM technologies, 3D printing, and innovative jewellery-making methods.
We would like to thank everyone for attending the opening event in such great numbers, as well as all partners supporting the project: Adam Pstrągowski from S&A Jewellery Design, Jerzy Malicki from Profilex, representative of a next-generation 3D printer manufacturer for the jewellery industry, and our partners in Hong Kong: Nancy Chui from Kocham Polskę HK 情牽波蘭, Dr. Wa Tat Yan from the University of Hong Kong, the cultured pearl farm Fisha’s Farmerry in Sai Kung, and our partner institution Hong Kong Design Institute.
Congratulations to the winners of the main award funded by S&A Jewellery Design: Martyna Golińska, Sandra Skurnóg, and Angelika Dzieciuch, as well as to the distinguished students: Dominika Afeltowicz, Stanisław Sulik, Paulina Śmigiel, and Gabriela Kozłowska.
We are delighted that the International Amber Association can serve as a meeting place for young designers, academic institutions, and the jewellery industry — a unique hub connecting education, design, and industry. A space where emerging creators have the opportunity to establish real connections and collaborations with manufacturers and international market partners.
The exhibition will be open until the end of this week, and it will return to the IAA Gallery again at the beginning of July.
