AMBERWORKING ADVENTURE

The International Amber Association (IAA) invites you to a unique experience with Baltic amber. During one intensive day, participants will have the opportunity to closely observe the amber extraction process and then actively take part in it. After returning to the IAA headquarters, each participant will cut and polish their own piece of amber and create a unique pendant.

The workshop will begin with a field session dedicated to amber extraction, led by Mr. Krzysztof Bieresniewicz (Amber Field Marta Bieresniewicz), an IAA member known from the Discovery Channel series “Baltic Gold”.

Participants will then take part in a jewellery-making workshop with amber, led by Giedymin Jabłoński and Zuzanna Franczak. Giedymin Jabłoński is a renowned artistic jewellery designer and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, while Zuzanna Franczak works as an assistant at the Experimental Design Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk.

Participants will receive self-extracted amber, silver findings, all necessary materials for work and design, as well as a participation certificate.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE:

08:00 – 09:00 departure to the amber extraction site

09:00 – 12:00 amber extraction – demonstration and active participation

12:00 – 13:00 return to Gdańsk to the International Amber Association headquarters

13:00 – 14:00 lunch break at the IAA headquarters*

14:00 – 14:30 lecture on Baltic amber and introduction to the workshop

14:30 – 17:00 amber jewellery-making workshop
