Inauguration of the 30th Anniversary of the IAA

2026-03-03

On February 27, the ceremonial inauguration of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the International Amber Association took place – a remarkable gathering full of memories, reflections, and discussions about the future of our organization and the entire amber community.

We were honored by the presence of:

  • Mrs. Beata Rutkiewicz – Pomeranian Voivode

  • Mrs. Monika Chabior – Deputy Mayor for Social Development and Equal Opportunities

  • Mrs. Marta Chełkowska – Director of the Tourism Department of the Pomeranian Voivodeship

  • Mr. Waldemar Sawa – President of the Pomeranian Chamber of Small and Large Enterprises

  • Mrs. Magdalena Mistat – Director of the European Solidarity Centre

  • Mrs. Magdalena Cichocka – Head of the Assay Office Department

  • Mrs. Katarzyna Michalska – President of the Amber Chamber

  • Mrs. Olga Hajduk – President of the Association of Jewelry Experts (SRJ)

  • Mr. Włodzimierz Luks – Senior Master of the Guild of Various Crafts in Gdynia

  • Mr. Andrzej Mikołajczyk – Deputy Chair of the Guild of Various Crafts at the Pomeranian Chamber of Crafts

  • Mr. Robert Pytlos – Amber Coordinator

A special honor was the presence of the founding members of the IAA, who three decades ago helped lay the foundations of our Association: Gabriela Gierłowska, Ewa Rachoń, Giedymin Jabłoński, Krzysztof Jacobson, Norbert Nagel, Mariusz Drapikowski (former IAA Chairman), Wojciech Kalandyka (former IAA Chairman), and Marek Juszczak.

Former and current presidents of the IAA also attended the event:
Ewa Wagner-Wysiecka, Ryszard Uliński, and Anna Sobecka.

Many members of the Association were present as well, whose dedication and participation serve as a reminder that it is the people who are the greatest strength of the IAA.

We are grateful for this exceptional evening – full of warmth, memories, and inspiring conversations about the years of work ahead. We wish ourselves continued success, resilience, and many new members, without whom the Association could not exist. May the coming decades be just as fruitful and inspiring!

We also thank IAA member Łukasz Łowiec-Wygoński for the visual design and sound system , as well as IAA member Kinga Gełdon-Czech  for photography and video materials.
