A meeting of the Amber Appraisers' Committee was held today at the IAA headquarters.

The 2026 action plan and proposed changes to the "Regulations for Granting Amber Appraiser Certifications at the IAA" were discussed, reflecting current market challenges, the growing diversity of materials, and the presence of imitations in trade. Detailed information on the planned changes will be provided soon.

The IAA's activities, from expertise to education and the dissemination of knowledge, are based on the collaboration of specialists and scientists from many fields: geology, chemistry, biology, archaeology, and art history. This enables a reliable assessment of Baltic amber, fossil and subfossil resins, as well as natural and synthetic materials occurring as their imitations.
