Summary of Amberif Autumn 2025

2025-09-10

The Amberif Autumn 2025 fair was an extraordinary time for the International Amber Association (IAA) – full of emotions, meetings, and events that will remain in our memory for a long time.

Julia Groos Vernissage

During the fair, we hosted the vernissage of Julia Groos – “From Human Beginnings to Human Choices”, the artist’s first monographic exhibition and her debut in working with Baltic amber. Guests had the opportunity to meet the artist, learn about her inspirations, and discover the process behind the creation of the collection. The exhibition attracted great interest and admiration from the public, which fills us with pride and joy.

Ceremonial Presentation of Mexican Amber

On the first day of the fair, a very special moment took place – the ceremonial presentation of an amber specimen from Chiapas region weighing 8.1 kg, which joined the World Fossil Resins Collection of the IAA. The donation was made by Janusz Fudala, IAA Ambassador in the USA and a member of the Association. On behalf of the donor, the amber was presented by Wojciech Kalandyk and received by President Ewa Wagner-Wysiecka and Vice-President Ewa Rachoń. We are deeply grateful for this exceptional gift, which enriches our collection.

Amber Master Classes – Amber Craft Workshops

At the IAA booth, we also hosted the Amber Master Classes – unique amber crafting workshops led by Giedymin Jabłoński (IAA, Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław) and Zuzanna Franczak (IAA, Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk). Participants had the chance to observe the creative process live, ask questions, and try their own hand at working with this extraordinary material. The workshops attracted great interest and demonstrated just how fascinating amber can be as an artistic medium.

Amberif Autumn 2025 was a time of encounters, exchange of experiences, and a celebration of the beauty of amber in its many forms. We thank everyone who visited the IAA booth and took part in our events. We look forward to seeing you at the next editions!
