Recently, the IAA Amber Laboratory received a unique object – an amber replica of the yacht America3. We encourage you to read the description provided by Mr. Artur Szyngwelski, who delivered it to the IAA Laboratory. ⬇️
In accordance with the MSB Amber Gemstone Classification, a certificate has been issued confirming that the yacht is made of composite, natural Baltic amber.
We sincerely thank you for your trust!
"Tomasz Ołdziejewski and I had the honor of creating a replica of an extraordinary yacht.
The yacht is America3, on which Dr. William Koch, an American businessman and sailing enthusiast, won the world's most important yachting event, the America's Cup, in 1992.
The replica was handed over to William Koch in early June and caused a deep stir in the heart of its new owner.
For its construction, we used exquisite Baltic amber, acacia wood, black oak, .999 silver, and monofilm, the very material from which sails are actually made.
The hull length is 60 cm and height is 102 cm.
We certified the amber with the International Amber Association.
The sails were designed by the excellent designer Kris Szpinger.
The challenging task was to combine classic materials like wood and amber with the modern lines of a racing machine."
