Dear Readers, Friends, and Amber Enthusiasts,

We are pleased to present to you another edition of Bursztynisko—the voice of our community, sharing knowledge and passion for the amber way of life.

In recent months, we have been focused on preparing for the relocation of our Association’s headquarters, planning the renovation, and securing funding. We share this journey with you to express our gratitude to everyone who supported this challenging endeavor, made possible through voluntary efforts. We hope you will feel a sense of satisfaction when you visit our new, bright office, Gallery, and Laboratory.

With the insights of researchers, we will take you on a journey through ambers from different parts of the world. Art historians will guide you through remarkable amber artifacts and its presence in paintings that depict the lives of past citizens in cities like Bruges and Gdańsk. We also pay tribute to Michał Gradowski—an extraordinary figure in Polish goldsmithing.

I highly recommend exploring the world of scents, familiar to every amber artisan working at the grinder—but not in the form of perfume!

You will also be captivated by electrifying scenes from the lives of ancient animals and insects, caught in amber’s timeless trap.
