The International Amber Association invites you to a basic amber course. The course will take place at fair AMBERIF Autumn 2023.

The basic course on amber is intended to provide the most important information about the origin of amber and geology, contemporary methods of processing and modifying stones, imitations, amber in art and classification of gemstones

Program of course:

9:00 - 9:45 Origin and deposits of Baltic amber, other fossil and subfossil resins
9:50 - 10:35 Imitations of Baltic amber
10:40 - 11:25 Methods of amber processing and modification
11:25 - 12:30 break
12:30 - 13:15 Amber trough history.
13:20 - 14:05 Amber in contemporary art.
14:10 - 14:55 Classification of gemstones

The cost of the course is PLN 1,000, PLN 700 for IAA and SRJ  members.

Each participant will receive a certificate of completion of the course and supporting materials.

The course will be held in Polish - it is possible to order an interpreter into English.
